Position Description


Job Description:                                                                      
The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of the Patient Care Station as a communication and reception centre. As the Unit Coordinating Assistant, the successful candidate will answer the telephone, organize the clerical function, manage and order supplies, enter doctor’s orders and provide services allowing the primary nurse maximal opportunity to provide quality care. In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting the Patient Care Manager in maintaining appropriate staffing complement by booking/canceling staff as requested and completing the bi weekly computerized payroll.
Educational Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • A related College Diploma in medical terminology and/or training in the medical secretarial field is required
  • Candidates must have a typing speed of 30 w.p.m. and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Weekend shift availability is required
