Title Direct Marketing Assistant (14 Month Contract)
Overview  
The Direct Marketing Assistant will assist in the marketing activities related to the promotion of various products and services. With a goal of delivering cost-effective direct marketing campaigns, you are competent with using analytical tools, sourcing lists, assisting with the creation of marketing copy, and the implementation of strategies and tactics that produce outstanding results.  At home in a fast-paced professional environment, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience with direct marketing. You will be expected to assist in the development, execution and fulfillment of targeted direct marketing campaigns.
 
This contract position reports to the Supervisor, Direct Marketing and is located in Ottawa, Ontario with a target start date of May 1, 2014.
Principal Duties
  • Prepare audience target lists daily based on strategy provided by marketers
  • Develop a company-wide weekly email schedule (using scoring criteria provided)
  • Provide email analysis and make audience and email recommendations as required
  • Plan, develop and execute marketing automation campaigns based on needs outlined by sales and marketing teams
  • Work with the web development team to solve any technical issues that arise with Marketo, our e-commerce system and customer website & webinar access issues
  • Assist in Direct Marketing team initiatives as required (including responding to customer service inquiries, pulling marketing lists and developing email copy)
Skills & Qualifications
 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Marketo or comparable bulk email/marketing automation system
  • Microsoft Access
  • Google Analytics
  • Ability to provide web technical support and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Post secondary education or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience in a professional marketing environment
  • Outstanding customer service orientation including the ability to deal with all levels of external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills, with solid detail orientation
  • Strong technical skills using the MS Suite, especially Access
  • Ability to be proactive and multi-task while delivering work in a timely manner
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance
