Position Summary

Position: Operations Manager (Custodial Services)

 
Location: Shell Scotford (Fort Saskatchewan)
 
Reports to: General Manager
 
Overview: The Operations Manager is a dynamic, fast-paced leadership role providing essential management functions. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong communication, computer and problem solving skills. You would be responsible for performing a variety of facilities management services and projects while managing several vendors and writing / developing reports, plans and presentations. Acting General Manager when required.
 
Duties:
 
Acts as the information & process Manager for Helpdesk and Custodial Team, including:
 
  • Providing assistance as required for inquiries and updating service tickets
  • Following up with contractors & contacts as required to ensure service request completion
  • Review site areas, by walking site and developing procedure to improve work load, pulse of staff and cost savings etc.
  • Assist the General Manager in delivering a customer service culture to the client
  • Assist the General Manager and the HSE team in promoting the strong Health and Safety Culture on site
  • Providing reports for use in trending and reporting in Monthly & Quarterly Business Reviews
 
Manages web communications for department, including:
 
  • Managing department webpage - ensure information is up-to-date, and pages adhere to global standards; generate new pages as required
  • Managing Self-Service information & forms links
  • Posting  “What's New” articles relating to building & services notices, ensuring adherence to communications standards
 
Manage sub vendor / self-preformed activities including:
 
  • Janitorial Services
  • Potable water delivery
  • Site vegetation control
  • Switchboard / Helpdesk
 
Project Management / Project Development / Contract Management including:
 
  • Developing Project Plans
  • Writing business proposals
  • Client Relations & Meetings
  • Financial Reporting , Contract Reporting
  • Turnaround project management
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
Required: (please only apply if you meet all required qualifications): 
 
  • 5 years work experience in Facilities Management (Custodial Services).
  • High school diploma required.
  • Exceptional computer & Microsoft Office  skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and initiative for quality and superior customer service.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment, and under tight deadlines
  • Readily adaptable to changing work priorities
 
Asset:
 
  • College degree
