The Facilities department at Cineplex Entertainment is currently recruiting for the position of Facilities Specialist, reporting to the Manager, National Facilities.
 
Working closely with operational managers and department colleagues, the successful candidate will fully participate in the activities of the department. The roles’ focus is to quickly and efficiently resolve issues surrounding building operations, assisting in the development of national best practice maintenance procedures, request for proposal (RPF) issuance and cost analysis.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • React quickly and effectively to emergency calls
  • Assist with the issuance of RFP’s for national contracts, analyze results and participate in supplier meetings leading to supplier selection
  • Assist with the compilation and execution of contracts
  • Engage with operational management on a continued basis to educate and ensure contractual and legislative compliance
  • Assist in providing the field with technical support
    Interface with field staff and assist in the resolution of issues and problems
  • Ensure suppliers that are working in our sites do so according to both provincial and corporate health and safety standards and also hold valid insurance certificates
  • Research and stay current on emerging trends  and recommend  opportunities from a building maintenance, environmental and energy consumption and cost reduction  point of view
  • Participate in the selection and roll out of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Assist with the administration and operation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Compilation of spreadsheets
  • Take on small projects independently
  • Assist in providing support to other departments
  • Various administrative duties as required
 
Desired Skills & Experiences:
  • 5 years of experience in facility management. Experience working in a chain store environment would be a definite asset. 
  • Post-Secondary education in Building Systems management or related field
  • Must have technical aptitude and knowledge of Fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, elevators, escalators and rooftops, building envelop
  • Customer service oriented
  • Demonstrated track record of working efficiently with others
  • Able to prioritize and  multitask in an extremely busy environment
  • Must be proactive, resourceful and be able to demonstrate excellent judgment
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues and opportunities
  • Good understanding of basic accounting
  • Proficient with excel, MS word, Outlook and willing to learn new programs
  • Fully proficient in English (reading, writing and speaking) French would be a definite asset
