The Information Technology department has an immediate opening for the position of Computer Operations Analyst reporting directly to the Director, Computer Operations and Infrastructure.
The specific responsibilities include:
1)      Hardware Architecture and Configuration
  • Full understanding of hardware architecture and system scaling
  • Experience configuring hardware systems and integrating primary / 3rd party components and drivers
  • Experience with shared disk / SAN technology including maintenance and operability
  • Experience using system tools to methodically troubleshoot hardware issues
  • Experience with network switching, firewall and routers
2)      Operating System Administration and Maintenance
  • Hands-on server architecture experience utilizing Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Full understanding of Windows AD / Exchange architecture
  • Experience configuring virtual environments with specific hands on experience using VMWare
  • Understanding and ability to manage AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Network Settings and other Windows Services
  • Ability to understand, manage, and optimize site to site AD replication in a complex environment
  • Understand and troubleshoot IIS
  • Provide support for tier 2 technical issues
3)      Application Support
  • Must have experience working with a wide range of network applications including:

    i) Email / Messaging solutions

    ii) File / Print servers

    iii) AntiVirus programs

    iv) Security / Proxy / Web monitoring systems

    v) Web / Portal / Document management applications

    vi) FTP Server / File transfer support

    vii) SCOM / SCCM

  • Must be familiar with proprietary application support
  • Understanding of Database architecture and be familiar with integrating applications with Database environments
4)      Networking Administration
  • Understanding of Network topologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a LAN / WAN environment
  • Experience with Routers, Switches, Application and Stateful Firewall configurations
  • Understanding of TCP port configurations
5)      Backup and Data Security
  • Experience with Backup strategies and architectures
  • Working knowledge of Backup Software with specific experience using Commvault
  • Ability to architect and deploy backup hardware solutions
  • Experience working with 3rd party archive and offsite storage solutions
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • University / College education in computer science or relevant work experience
  • Must be either certified or working towards  MCITP Designation
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience with Active Directory and Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting remote locations and working with a remote support utilities
  • Must be able to design, prepare and conduct new technology evaluations to determine infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and make recommendations for improvement of infrastructure, technology, operational capability, reliability and performance
  • Must be proactive and possess strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must possess excellent writing and verbal presentation skills
  • Must be able to operate in a busy environment and manage multiple projects and change with shifting priorities
  • Must possess design and documentation skills utilizing MS Visio to keep network / infrastructure diagrams current
  • Must be self-motivated and able to mentor others on the team
  • Must be able to carry a pager and be on call on a rotational basis
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel
