The Planning and Business Development department currently has an opening for the position of Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, reporting directly to the Vice President, Planning and Business Development.
Reporting to the Vice President Planning and Business Development, the Senior Manager will provide financial planning and analysis to support business units and functional areas at Cineplex. The Senior Manager will support the annual planning and quarterly reporting cycles by preparing reports and analysis of short and long term plans in a timely, accurate and relevant basis. The Senior Manager will provide meaningful financial analysis utilizing financial models to support investment decisions, as well as participate in strategic planning exercises, as required.
Manages the co-ordination, creation, review and analysis of annual budget and five year plan ensuring completeness, timeliness, accuracy, relevance and reliability.
Assists business units and functional areas in the development of strategies, annual business plans and budgets, quarterly forecasts and expense variation explanations.
Provides financial analysis support for business units and functional areas.
Builds financial models to support business decisions by senior management.
Performs Trend, Cash flow and Discount Cash flow analysis and identifies opportunities for improvements. Provides insight and recommendations based on analysis.
Performs evaluation of Capital projects and other investments
Acts as a subject matter expert on financial matters; provides value-added financial and strategic advice to all areas of the business in response to new initiatives, changing strategies, and business needs.
Drives continuous improvement through the adoption of automation tools and streamlined processes
Completes special projects involving the analysis of financial information working with team members both within Planning and cross functionally.
Desired Skills & Experience
University degree in Business or equivalent, MBA desirable.
Qualified professional accountant (CA, CMA, CGA).
5+ years accounting/budgeting/financial analysis experience.
Experience with budgeting and forecasting software.
Extensive financial data modeling experience.
Strong analytical, organizational and computer skills, including experience with database and spreadsheet programs.
Knowledge of Excel’s advanced functions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.
Ability to function effectively in a team environment and independently.
Self-motivated and a self-starter.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
