The Information Technology department at home office in Toronto has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist reporting directly to the Vice President, Software Solutions & Data.
 
Environment and Position Summary
 
Cineplex has a dynamic Information Technology team; continuously engaged in advancing the capabilities of the Company. Cineplex IT is broken roughly into four groups: Infrastructure, Support, Development, and Project Management. The success of all four of these groups depends on the cohesion of all. The Quality Assurance Specialist becomes a significant player in the process that delivers this cohesion.
 
The Quality Assurance Specialist is a new specific role at Cineplex. It is a great opportunity for a bright individual to shape the standard for this new mandate. In this role, you are charged with establishing and managing the future of Cineplex’s corporate test software library, its technologies and processes.

Role, Responsibilities & Objectives:
 
The principal objective is the improving of both the quality and productivity of the software testing processes at Cineplex.   Your success is measured in achieving the following objectives:
 
  • Establish and maintain a corporate test script library.
  • Establish and manage processes to ensure that changes to test scripts are properly flagged for update and then appropriately versioned within the scripts themselves, following up with Business Analysts and Developers accordingly.
  • Establish, maintain and manage automation technologies and processes that will allow the conversion of our existing manual business test scripts to solutions that are allow for quicker testing iterations while ensuring thorough testing.
  • Take ownership and further develop performance and stress testing
  • Work with the Business Analysis and Development teams to convert existing manual test scripts to new automated testing routines.
  • Train all members of the team, including the training department on the use of end user testing technologies (e.g. Microsoft Test Center)
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
 
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • A prior history working in a Quality Assurance role.
  • Proven track record of QA automation
  • Microsoft Test Manager
  • Visual Studio Performance Profiler
  • PeopleSoft Test Framework
  • Well acquainted with software lifecycle management and change management processes and protocol.
  • A solid overarching understanding of system technology and architecture.
  • Prior history in retail operations or hospitality.
