Cannon Design has an exceptional opportunity for an Architect based in our Washington, DC office.
Proven track record for leading and undertaking the technical execution of laboratories and vivaria design for academic, corporate, governmental and healthcare clients. Must have the ability to understand and translate clients needs into highly designed and functional technical spaces. Independently collect data, analyze the clients vision, mission and project goals, and organize it to assist the client and other disciplines involved in the design process. This will involve evaluating specific types of laboratory processes, lab equipment and casework, and aiding the client / design team in selection and specification. Other duties will include: preparing detailed space programs, creating planning and design documents, contract documents and specifications coordinating with the work of architectural and interior designers, engineers and other consultants to ensure the highest level of design quality across all aspects of the project and providing oversight of the production of completed documents and specifications.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years experience working on Lab/Science and Technology projects. Revit or other BIM project experience preferred. Bachelor of Architecture required. Master of Architecture preferred.
