Title Ice Maintenance Person - "B Ticket" - Part Time
Position Overview
Under the direction the direction of the Operations Manager, ensure that floods are done on time with safety being a prime concern. Primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing, edging, janitorial work & (T’s) ice plant / compressor log readings, & some HVAC troubleshooting. Also provides cooperative assistance within all areas of the business.
 
(T's) - Note: Ontario Refrigeration Class B Ticket is required.

SAFETY:
Provide Health and Safety Leadership:
  • Is aware of the Facility Emergency Plan.
  • Is aware of location of First Aid kit and Incident Reports.
  • Ensures that all entrances are kept clear and safe of all debris and snow.
  • Supports and promotes a safe workplace

  • Properly stored tools and equipment in designated areas.

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL:
  • Perform maintenance within the facility in accordance with local building and fire codes.
  • Resurfacing, edging and other ongoing ice maintenance as scheduled.

  • (T) Monitor the ice plant regularly and take appropriate actions as necessary for safe operation, maintaining logs with readings (as required) and keeping appropriate notes.

Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends).
  • Good communication skills
  • Team oriented.
  • Strong general mechanical aptitude an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment.
  • Possession of a valid Ontario "B" Refrigeration Certificate.
  • A valid Drivers license.
