Title NATO Planner/Scheduler
Position Overview Canexus Calgary is currently seeking:

NATO Planner/Scheduler


 As the successful candidate you will monitor and control project processes, including schedule, costs and progress status reporting, management of Change processes, task control and progress reporting, and document control. Lead team members to support Project Managers and Project Program Manager in Project Controls functions.
Identify and report on schedule and risk issues arising from the planning and execution of the project, and be the key person working with the NATO Project Program Manager (PPM) and Project Managers (PM) to ensure the cost and schedule align with the business objectives and the execution plans.




  • Maintain project processes and coordinate resources to follow corporate processes
  • Maintain project Registers for risks, changes, and issues
  • Manage project schedules, analyze schedule variations and evaluate project trends and schedule forecast
  • Roll project schedules into a master program schedule
  • Review contractor, vendor, and consultant schedules
  • Establish liaison with project management and vendors on all matters relating to planning and scheduling
  • Manage project Scheduling as impacted by project change
  • Work with project estimator, cost controller and planning staff
  • Develop standard and ad-hoc reports/analyses
  • Integral participation in the budgeting process
  • Interact and liaise with a variety of departments within the organization as well as multiple levels of management
  • Assist in determining priorities in the preparation of multiple projects on a timely basis
  • Participate in other duties, responsibilities and special projects as directed or determined on own initiative
  • Manage team members in other project control functions to act as a team lead and ensure all processes are followed.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, engineering or Project Controls
  • 5 to 10 years of scheduling and project planning experience in a diverse and challenging work environment. Direct involvement in Construction planning and scheduling, and a strong knowledge of Project Controls and Change Management processes
  • Key skills, knowledge and expected level of behaviors
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project 2007/2010
  • Experience with MS project enterprise
  • Strong team player
  • Developed process improvement skills and sense of initiative
  • Sound knowledge of MS office software including Excel, Word, and Visio
