Title Rails Developer
Position Overview We are looking for a Rails Developer who will be responsible for writing quality standard software that meets the specifications provided by the software development process. The position is in Product Development Department and will require interaction with various other developers, employees, and software management in order to perform the necessary duties correctly.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Must have strong product sense and excellent technical judgment
• Should write clean, readable, and efficient code to achieve the proper detailed objective
• Thoroughly test code, thinking outside the box, before marking assigned tasks as complete
• Analyze software performance and take action to correct deficiencies
• Debug software defects and provide proper solutions
• Must maintain involved projects and make approved software changes
• Clearly document and record programming-related information
• Mentor and perform basic training to lower-title developers as needed


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to cooperate and function effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Willingness to attend progressive job related training as requested
• Experience working on large-scale web applications
• Ability to own projects end-to-end as demonstrated by significant open-source contributions, independent projects, team leadership, or startups

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Manual and finger dexterity for the operation of a personal computer and routine paperwork
• Stamina to sit, stand, and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Tolerance to be exposed to a computer screen for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis
• Ability to lift and carry objects that are 50 pounds or less on an occasional basis
• Mobility to bend, stoop, and/or climb stairs on an occasional basis
• Tolerance for a quiet to moderate noise level
Requirements SKILLS:
• Must be comfortable doing full-stack web development
• Strong Knowledge of Ruby and Rails
• Good knowledge of MySQL and other databases
• Ability to architect scalable Rails services
• JavaScript and HTML5 skills
• Experience working on large-scale web applications
• Must have knowledge of scalability, systems engineering and design patterns
• Great product sense and design sense; excellent technical judgment and architecture experience
• Eight (8) years work experience with software development projects

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
