Education Officer – Children & Youth
Temporary Part-Time
Up to 24 hours per week; availability for weekdays, evenings and weekends will be required.
The Art Gallery of Ontario welcomes thousands of students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 on school visits every year from September to June. We are looking for engaging individuals with superior communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team, demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable, and a passion for art education centered on the student experience.
Working in conjunction with other staff, volunteers and interns, the successful candidate will lead and facilitate guided gallery visits and studio visits for elementary and secondary school students. You will work as part of a team with volunteers to deliver an engaging, interactive, and fun experience to students that is responsive to their learning needs and the Ontario curriculum.
Post-secondary studies in Education, Art Education, Visual Arts, and Art History or equivalent experience as well as studio experience are required. Extensive experience working with children and youth in both formal and informal educational settings is also required. Candidates must be proficient in the use of email, wikis, and shared documents. The ability to speak French is an asset.
