Position Overview The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the business to ensure the operations, maintenance of the trucks and customer service standards of our contracts are met in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner while leading and developing an engaged and effective team.
Requirements What we require of you:
• 5-10 years’ management experience in a related industry
• Community college diploma or equivalent training
• Logistics program and/or combined industry experience
• Valid Driver’s License; Class 1 or A with Air Endorsement an asset
• Excellent people management, communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills; experienced with creating, updating and producing monthly reports related to operations
• Demonstrated ability to analyze emerging issues and develop responses quickly
• Past experience providing superb customer service preferably in the transportation/distribution industry
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (ie: TSSA, TDG, WHMIS, Fuel Handling Act and other pertinent provincial or
 federal regulations)
• Understanding of fleet operations and maintenance programs required
• Responsible for training and performance management of employees
• Must have a safety and compliance mind set
• Must be able to be available 24/7 (or to ensure coverage) to provide telephone assistance and emergency response
